PM Shehbaz Arrives in Malaysia on Two-Day Official Visit

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Malaysia on a two-day official visit at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Upon his arrival at Bunga Raya International Airport in Kuala Lumpur, Prime Minister Shehbaz and his delegation received a warm welcome.

He was received by Malaysia’s Minister of Communications and Digital Fahmi Fadzil, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Malaysia Syed Ahsan Raza Shah and other diplomatic officials.

The streets of Kuala Lumpur were adorned with Pakistani and Malaysian flags in honor of the visit. Upon reaching his official residence, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim warmly welcomed Shehbaz Sharif. The Pakistani premier expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and stated that he was delighted to be in Malaysia, calling the visit an opportunity to further strengthen the bilateral relationship.

Accompanying the Prime Minister are Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet with his Malaysian counterpart, Anwar Ibrahim. Delegation-level talks will also be held. Both countries are expected to sign agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance cooperation in various sectors.

Key areas of focus include trade, information technology and telecommunications, the halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy. The two leaders are also expected to discuss strengthening people-to-people ties.

This visit is being regarded as highly significant in reinforcing and expanding the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Malaysia.
