PM warns India of crushing response in case of water aggression

Rejects baseless accusations against Pakistan and seeks neutral investigation into Pahalgam incident.

KAKUL: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday slammed India for hurling baseless accusations at Pakistan over the Pahalgam incident without any credible evidence, calling it a continuation of New Delhi’s reckless blame game.

Speaking at the Pakistan Military Academy’s passing-out parade, Sharif said Pakistan categorically rejects the false narrative and is ready to cooperate in any impartial, transparent, and credible investigation.

He warned India to end its exploitation and misinformation tactics, stressing that Kashmir remains Pakistan’s jugular vein and an internationally recognized disputed territory. “The Kashmiri people must be given their right to self-determination,” he asserted.

Sharif also cautioned against India’s “water aggression,” vowing that any hostile move would meet a crushing response, similar to February 2019. “Water is our lifeline: we will protect it at all costs,” he declared.

Highlighting Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, Sharif emphasized that no nation has paid a heavier price. On Afghanistan, he urged Kabul to ensure its soil is not used by terrorists against Pakistan.
