MUZAFFARABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to immediately submit a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq.

According to party sources, PPP leadership has instructed its assembly members to reach Muzaffarabad without delay, and the signatures required for the motion have already been collected.

The name of the new leader is expected to be added to the motion at the last possible moment. Meanwhile, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has reportedly begun holding farewell meetings with his staff, indicating that he is preparing for the political transition.

PPP’s preferred candidate for the position of Prime Minister is Chaudhry Yasin, while the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) is also expected to extend its support to the motion.

The submission of the no-confidence motion had faced delays due to a recent constitutional amendment in Pakistan, which temporarily affected the procedural timeline. Although a simple majority of 27 votes is required for the motion to succeed, PPP claims to have secured the support of more than 36 assembly members.
