PPP’s Qadir Shah elected Sindh Assembly speaker

Gets 111 votes out of the total votes of 147 while 36 votes went to Sofia Shah of the MQM.

KARACHI: Owais Qadir Shah of Pakistan People’s Party was on Sunday elected as the speaker of the Sindh Assembly. 

He took 111 votes out of the total votes of 147 while 36 votes went to Sofia Shah of the MQM.

Later, he was administered the oath. Addressing the house later, the new speaker thanked the party leadership for nominating him for the slot.

He also thanked members of the assembly for reposing trust in him and added that as speaker he would do his best to maintain decorum of the house by taking all members in board.
