ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved four important bills, along with the appointment of a new member to the Federal Public Service Commission, according to an official statement issued by the Presidency on Tuesday.
The approved legislation includes the Carriage by Air (Amendment) Bill 2026, Pakistan Airports Authority (Amendment) Bill 2026, Financial Responsibility and Debt Limitation (Amendment) Bill 2026, and the Iqbal Academy (Amendment) Bill 2026.
In addition to legislative approvals, the President also sanctioned the appointment of Ayesha Humaira Chaudhry (BS-22) as a member of the Federal Public Service Commission.
The approvals are part of ongoing parliamentary and administrative reforms aimed at strengthening governance, aviation regulation, fiscal discipline, and institutional development in the country.
Officials said the amendments in aviation-related laws are expected to improve regulatory efficiency in the sector, while financial legislation aims to reinforce debt management frameworks.
Further procedural steps will continue as the approved bills move through implementation stages.
