RAWALPINDI: A protest staged by the sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan outside Adiala Jail has ended following successful negotiations with Rawalpindi police.
According to police officials, the demonstrators were assured that family members of the PTI founder would be allowed to meet him on next Tuesday.
After the assurance, the protesters, including Aleema Khan, Dr Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi, called off the sit-in and left the area.
Several political figures, including Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Salman Akram Raja, also departed after the protest concluded.
Following the end of the sit-in, police removed all barricades from Adiala Road, restoring the flow of traffic.
Police said the situation remained completely peaceful throughout and no untoward incident was reported. Protest participants also expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the talks.
