Protesters Set Fire to Israeli Embassy in Mexico City Over Rafah Attack

MEXICO CITY: Clashes erupted outside the Israeli Embassy in Mexico City as protesters demonstrated against Israel’s recent military assault in Rafah, which killed dozens of displaced Palestinians.

According to local reports, around 200 demonstrators gathered near the embassy, chanting slogans against Israeli policies and calling for international action to stop attacks on civilians in Gaza.

The protest, which began peacefully, escalated when some participants hurled Molotov cocktails and other objects at the building, sparking a fire.

Police in riot gear responded with tear gas and shields, attempting to disperse the crowd. Several protesters and police officers were injured during the clashes, with reports confirming that at least 18 police officers sustained injuries from petrol bombs and projectiles.

Demonstrators condemned the bombing of displaced Palestinians in Rafah, describing it as a massacre and urging the global community to take stronger measures against Israel.

The incident in Mexico City is part of a wave of international protests following the deadly Israeli strike on a refugee camp in Rafah.

Similar demonstrations have been reported in cities across Europe, North America, and Latin America, highlighting growing global outrage over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
