KARACHI: New Zealand cricketer Cole McConchie, representing Rawalpindi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has praised the tournament, calling it a high-standard competition and a valuable experience for international players.

In an exclusive interview, McConchie said his first PSL experience has been “excellent,” adding that despite his team not getting the desired results, he is fully enjoying the tournament.

He said that visiting Pakistan is always a pleasure and playing for the Rawalpindi franchise has been a rewarding experience, especially due to the strong mix of Pakistani and foreign players in the squad.

McConchie highlighted the quality of competition in the PSL, noting that many world-class players participate in the league, making it an honour to be part of it.

He also spoke about playing conditions in Pakistan, saying pitches here are different from New Zealand but his prior experience has helped him adapt quickly.

Praising the hospitality, McConchie said he has always received a warm welcome in Pakistan and particularly appreciates the local food and treatment of visiting players.

He added that fellow New Zealand cricketer Daryl Mitchell had also spoken positively about the PSL and Pakistan’s hospitality.

McConchie expressed hope that his team would improve in upcoming matches and finish the tournament on a stronger note.
