ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have expressed deep concern over the health of party founder Imran Khan, warning the government that if PTI workers take to the streets  they will not let them escape.

PTI leaders, including Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sohail Afridi and senior leader Salman Akram Raja, condemned the government’s handling of Khan’s health and legal situation.

PTI President for KP, Junaid Akbar, said Imran Khan’s health was the party’s primary concern. He criticized the government for not supporting members like MNA Adil Buzai, who needs treatment abroad, and blamed a political conspiracy. He also expressed frustration with the current leadership, saying, “We hate you, and if you file FIRs against us, it will only increase our contempt.”

The PTI leaders called for a change in the government’s approach, urging them to move past grievances for the country’s future. Akbar said Imran Khan, being a man of large heart, would forgive, but peace would come when the people stood behind a leader they believe in. He pointed out that the youth of Pakistan had become disillusioned with the government and would only accept it when it acknowledged Khan.

Sohail Afridi revealed that Khan’s health had deteriorated, particularly his eyesight, which had dropped to 15%. Afridi accused the authorities of criminal behavior by administering treatment without Khan’s personal doctors’ consent. He compared the government’s lack of action to the public outcry during Nawaz Sharif’s health issues, questioning why similar attention wasn’t being given to Khan.

Salman Akram Raja criticized the government for not addressing Khan’s deteriorating condition and demanded his immediate release from jail to receive proper treatment. He called for nationwide protests, urging citizens to join PTI’s efforts.

Afridi stated that a course of action would be decided in upcoming meetings. As political tensions rise, the PTI’s efforts to safeguard Khan’s health are growing, posing the question of whether this push will lead to change or deepen divisions in the country.
