PESHAWAR: The PTI, which is in power in KP, on Thursday openly utilized the provincial government’s resources to mobilize the public for the party’s rally in Islamabad which was later postponed.

The administration in Islamabad had cancelled the NOC which was issued to the PTI earlier. The capital administration had also blocked roads by placing shipping containers in order to stop the supporters of the PTI from reaching the venue of the public gathering at Tarnol.

According to media reports, on the direction of KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, vehicles of Rescue 1122 along with rescue staffers and machinery such as excavators, heavy cranes from different government departments were moved to Islamabad to remove hurdles from the blocked roads.

However, later in the day the party stated that its founder Imran Khan had announced from Adiala jail to postpone the public gathering. They said that the public gathering will now be held on September 8.

After the postponement of the rally, KP Chief Minister Gandapur was seen in social media videos distributing Rs5,000 currency notes among workers of the party in Islamabad.

The party workers criticized the leadership for postponing the public gathering after a large number of people had arrived to participate.
