PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media activist Sanam Javed was reportedly arrested in a dramatic operation in Peshawar, according to media reports and party sources.
Sources revealed that Sanam Javed’s vehicle was intercepted by two cars on a busy road in Peshawar, where she was forcibly taken into custody in front of other commuters.
Former federal minister Sheikh Waqas Akram stated on social media platform X that two vehicles blocked her car and forced her out, while her friends were also present inside the vehicle at the time.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, confirmed that an FIR had been registered over the alleged abduction incident. The case was filed at Peshawar’s Eastern Police Station on the complaint of Advocate Hira Babar, daughter of Muhammad Babar Shoaib.
The Chief Minister has ordered a comprehensive and transparent investigation, and legal action has been initiated to arrest the unknown individuals allegedly involved in the incident. The spokesperson added that those found guilty of participating in any illegal activity will face strict action under the law.
The provincial government has pledged to use all available resources to ensure justice for Sanam Javed, emphasizing that the protection of law, justice, and human dignity in the province is being upheld through concrete action rather than mere slogans.
