Public Holiday in AJK for Overseas Kashmir Conference Tomorrow

MUZAFFARABAD: The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has declared Monday, February 16, 2026, as a public holiday.

The announcement comes ahead of the Overseas Kashmir Conference scheduled to be held in Muzaffarabad, the regional capital.

According to the official notification, a large number of overseas Pakistanis and Kashmiris are expected to participate in the conference.

The holiday has been declared to ensure smooth administrative and security arrangements for the event. On this day, all government, semi-government offices, and private commercial centers in Muzaffarabad will remain closed.

Officials stated that the measure is necessary to welcome distinguished guests and ensure the successful organization of the conference. The primary objectives of the conference include promoting the region’s development, informing overseas Kashmiris and Pakistani investors about investment opportunities, and highlighting the facilities available in Azad Kashmir.

The government emphasized that the event will strengthen relations with overseas Kashmiris and encourage them to contribute to the region’s economic growth, prosperity, and sustainable planning.
