LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution calling for a ban on the jailed PTI founder abd former prime minister Imran Khan, labeling the party and its leadership as harmful to national stability.
The resolution was moved by PML-N MPA Tahir Pervaiz, who asserted that any individual or organization involved in anti-state activities should face strict legal action.
According to the text of the resolution, Pakistan’s security institutions have safeguarded the country on every front and have successfully countered threats from a neighboring nation “five times larger than Pakistan.”
The resolution claims that hostile statements and efforts to create unrest in the country serve the interests of enemy states.
It demands that the PTI founder and any leaders, regardless of party affiliation, who engage in actions against national integrity be dealt with under the law and given appropriate punishment.
The resolution also pays tribute to the security institutions of Pakistan, including their leadership and young personnel, for their role in protecting the country’s stability.
