LAHORE: The Punjab government has formally launched a comprehensive project for the restoration, conservation, and rehabilitation of minority religious sites across the province, aiming to safeguard their historical, cultural, and religious significance.
Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora inaugurated the initiative at Gurdwara Manke, located near Lahore, highlighting the importance of preserving the province’s diverse heritage.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the minister said the provincial government is taking practical and sustained measures to protect the religious and cultural heritage of minority communities residing in Punjab.
He added that restoration and conservation work would be carried out in well-planned phases at gurdwaras, churches, temples, and other minority religious buildings to ensure their long-term preservation and to maintain their historical and spiritual significance.
Arora emphasized that the project demonstrates the government’s strong commitment to promoting religious harmony, cultural inclusivity, and the protection of places of worship belonging to minority communities across the province.
