LAHORE: Punjab Police have stepped up operations against Afghan nationals residing illegally across the province amid ongoing border security concerns.
According to a spokesperson, more than 32,000 foreign nationals, including Afghan citizens, have been deported from Punjab, including Lahore.
Currently, 90 individuals are being held at various holding points and will be deported once their legal processes are completed. Among those deported are men, women, and children.
Some had Proof of Residence documents, others possessed Afghan Citizen Cards, while the remainder were residing in the country without any legal documentation.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Karim, has instructed authorities to maintain high security across the province and ensure the complete deportation of all illegally residing individuals.
In a related development, airstrikes in Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia have reportedly been confirmed by an Afghan spokesperson.
