ISLAMABAD: The inaugural International Quran Recitation Competition in Pakistan concluded with a ceremony at the Convention Center in Islamabad on Saturday.
The event celebrated exceptional talents of Quranic reciters from 37 countries.
Qari Aiman Rizwan Bin Muhammad Ramlani from Malaysia took first place, winning a cash prize of Rs5 million, while Qari Adnan from Iran secured second place with Rs3 million and Qari Abdul Rasheed from Pakistan third, earning Rs2 million.
Qari from Afghanistan, Qari from Indonesia, and Qari from Morocco rounded out the top six positions.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf presented the awards, applauding the reciters for their dedication and contribution to promoting peace and unity.
The evening opened with a soul-stirring recitation by Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali followed by speeches underscoring the Quran’s role in shaping both personal and societal values. The competition not only celebrated the beauty of Quranic recitation but also reinforced the universal spiritual heritage that unites Muslims worldwide.
