Rallies, protests condemn Indian occupation of Kashmir on Black Day

United Nations asked to stop Indian atrocities and resolve Kashmir issue in accordance with aspirations of Kashmiris.

MUZAFFARABAD: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and the world over observed October 27 as Black Day against the illegal occupation of their region 76 years ago today with holding of rallies and protest demonstrations.

They also condemned the international community for its callous attitude towards the people of the occupied Kashmir who have been denied their right to self-determination despsite being promised by the United Nations.

They also condemned the invasion revocation of the special status of occupied Kashmir by the Narendra Modi Hindutva Indian government on August 5, 2019.

On October 27, 1947 Indian troops in total violation of the spirit of the Partition Plan of the subcontinent militarily invaded Jammu and Kashmir and illegally occupied it against the will of the Kashmiri people.

ISLAMABAD

An anti-India protest demonstration was held outside the office of the United Nations Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) in Islamabad today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest demonstration was jointly organized by All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell.

Senior leader of APHC-AJK chapter Ghulam Muhammad Safi led the demonstration while Azad Jammu and Kashmir Minister Ahmed Raza Qadri also participated in it.

They said that the October 27, 1947, Indian action was a violation of the Partition Plan of the subcontinent, two-nation theory, all domestic and international laws and principles besides violation of the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

Senior Hurriyat leader Ghulam Muhammad Safi said the killing of Kashmiris in occupied Jammu and Kashmir was the worst example of Indian state terrorism.

He urged the United Nations and the international community to take notice of Indian atrocities in IIOJK and play a role in resolving the Kashmir dispute according to the United Nations resolutions.

At the end of the protest, a memorandum was submitted to the UN Military Observer Group, condemning the Indian atrocities in the occupied territory and demanding the implementation of the UN resolutions.

 

PESHAWAR

A rally was arranged in Peshawar which started from Chief Minister’s House and ended at Governor’s House. The rally was jointly led by caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan and Governor Haji Ghulam Ali.

Besides caretaker cabinet members, government functionaries, members of civil society, representative of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir, people from different walks of life and a large number of students participated in the rally.

The participants of the rally strongly condemned Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris and expressed solidarity with the people of India Illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir. They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the barbarism and oppression of Indian forces on the innocent Kashmiris.

Talking to media persons on the occasion, the Chief Minister strongly condemned the Indian atrocities on Kashmiris and reiterated the resolve to continue moral, political, and diplomatic support for Kasmiris, and said that people of Kashmir were not alone in this tough time, each and every Pakistani stood by them and we will continue to support their just struggle at every forum.

Muhammad Azam Khan called upon the international community especially United Nations and other Human Rights Organizations to take serious notice of fundamental human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, and play their effective role to give the Kashmiris their right to self-determination so that they could decide their fate as per their desires and aspirations. He made it clear that sustainable peace in the region was not possible without just and fair solution to the Kashmir issue.

The chief minister also paid rich tribute to the struggle of Kashmiri people and reiterated the commitment to support them at every forum. The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stood by the people of Kashmir and will continue to stand by them in future as well, he concluded.
