RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, met with Shia scholars in Rawalpindi to discuss the role of religious leaders in promoting peace, unity, and national security.
During the meeting, the Army Chief stressed the importance of tolerance and national solidarity. He said Pakistan would not allow its territory to be used for terrorism and called on Afghan Taliban to stop any anti-Pakistan activities from their soil. He also highlighted the need to counter misinformation and sectarian propaganda.
The scholars expressed their full support for the armed forces and condemned violence carried out in the name of religion. They paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country and assured authorities of their cooperation in maintaining law and order.
At the end of the meeting, a joint message was issued emphasizing national unity, rejection of extremism, and continued support for Pakistan’s stability and security.
The scholars also encouraged young people to contribute positively to the nation and avoid involvement in anti-state activities.
