Role of minorities in national progress is vital: Shehbaz

Renews pledge to continuously strive for religious freedom and equal rights on National Day of Minorities.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday appreciated the role of minorities in he development of Pakistan.

On the occasion of the National Day of Minorities, Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged the vital contribution of minorities to Pakistan’s progress and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring their full participation in government institutions, Parliament, and the mainstream of national life.

In his message, the Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s solidarity with the international community in protecting the rights of minorities and praised their key role in the country’s development.

He also renewed the pledge to continuously strive for religious freedom and equal rights for minorities, guided by the teachings of Islam and the vision of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The Prime Minister highlighted Jinnah’s historic speech on August 11, 1947, describing it as an ideological guarantee for a secure future for minorities in Pakistan.
