Russian president, UN chief condemn Quetta bomb blast

ISLAMABAD: Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the bomb blast at Quetta railway station on Saturday that left at least 27 people dead and over 40 injured.
President Putin strongly condemned the incident of terrorism and said that Russia was ready to work with Pakistan against terrorists. He expressed his condolences over the loss of so many lives.
“We are determined to continue close cooperation with our Pakistani partners against all forms and manifestations of terrorism,” the Russian president stated in a letter.
Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres also condemned the heinous terrorist attack and called for the perpetrators to be held accountable.
Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said, in a statement, the Secretary General sends his condolences to the families of those killed, as well as to the people and Government of Pakistan. He wished a speedy recovery to all those injured.
On the other hand, the funeral of those killed was held at Quetta garrison and attended by a large number of people.
Religious and political leaders across the country also condemned the incident in which human lives were lost.
