Salaries of Sindh MPAs Set To Increase By Rs. 300,000

KARACHI: The salaries of members of the Sindh Assembly are likely to see an increase of Rs.300,000, which would raise their monthly pay to over Rs. 450,000.

The decision was discussed in a meeting chaired by Sindh Assembly Speaker Owais Qadir Shah, attended by Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjhar, the opposition leader, and other officials. During the meeting, the salaries of assembly members across all provinces were reviewed, and the proposed increase was considered.

According to sources, the parliamentary committee has approved the raise, which will bring Sindh MPs’ salaries in line with their counterparts in Punjab and Balochistan.

After parliamentary committee approval, the proposal will be presented to the Sindh Assembly for final ratification.

Previously, assembly members were earning Rs. 160,000 per month. Officials said the increase aims to ensure parity among provincial assemblies and standardize benefits for legislators. Earlier this month, a bill to raise MPs’ salaries and allowances was passed unanimously in the provincial assembly.
