NEW YORK: Saudi Arabia has clearly stated that it will not establish any relations with Israel until a Palestinian state is created.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan made this announcement during a United Nations conference on the two-state solution, co-hosted by Saudi Arabia and France.

He said that peace and stability in the region depend on justice for Palestinians and that a two-state solution is the only way forward.

Prince Faisal added that Saudi Arabia supports the creation of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He also said the Arab Peace Initiative is a fair and balanced way to solve the conflict.

The minister called for an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and announced that Saudi Arabia and France helped arrange $300 million in aid to Palestine through the World Bank.

Meanwhile, addressing the event, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa called the conference a chance for peace. He said the two-state solution is a historic opportunity and shows that the world supports the Palestinian people.

He also called for unity between the West Bank and Gaza and urged Hamas to give up weapons and support the Palestinian Authority.
