RIYADH: The Saudi General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has announced the initiation of a process to extend various types of expired visit visas.
The move is aimed at ensuring that foreign nationals residing in the Kingdom on expired visit visas can depart the country legally and without facing penalties.
According to an official statement, all foreigners with expired visit visas currently in Saudi Arabia are advised to renew their visas within the specified timeframe in order to proceed with final departure procedures.
The Passport Department emphasized that this measure is intended to simplify the departure process for affected individuals and to prevent any legal violations or financial penalties related to overstaying a visa.
Foreign visitors have been urged to monitor their visa status through the Absher platform or other official government channels. They are advised to act promptly and ensure visa extensions are processed before the expiry date to avoid legal or financial consequences.
This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to maintaining lawful migration procedures while supporting a smooth and orderly exit for overstaying visitors.
