School boy dies in bridge collapse in remote Chitral village

Two students saved by local people after the dilapidated fell into the Yarkhun river.

YARKHUN LASHT: A student of class 10th died by falling into the river when a dilapidated pedestrian bridge collapsed near here on Saturday evening.

Local people identified the boy as Nadeem Ahmed, son of Zar Muhammad, resident of Rukot village.

He was a student of 10th class at the Govt High School Yarkhun Lasht. The incident occured when Nadeem along with other students was going home from the school.

Two other students accompanying Nadeem had also fallen into the river but they were saved by local people.

Due to poor condition of roads abd bridges in the remote areas, such incidents have become frequent.
