SYDNEY: Scientists in Australia have discovered a new and unusually large insect species in the country’s tropical rainforests, astonishing viewers with its massive size.

According to international media reports, a video of the insect has also been released, showing a creature with butterfly-like wings and a grasshopper-like body.

The insect has left many stunned due to its extraordinary size and appearance.

Researchers from an Australian university revealed that it is the heaviest insect ever recorded in the country, weighing 44 grams and measuring approximately 16 inches in length.
