ISLAMABAD: The 12th Meeting of the Heads of Border Services of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States was held in Islamabad under Pakistan’s chairmanship. Representatives from Pakistan, China, Russia, India, Iran, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) attended the meeting.
During the session, member states unanimously approved the results of the joint border operation “Solidarity-2025.” Participants reviewed the security situation along international borders, discussed emerging challenges, and exchanged views on future trends in border security.
The meeting also approved the plan for the preparation and implementation of the “Solidarity-2026” joint border operation, along with the 2027 work plan for the SCO Border Services Experts Group. Member states supported Tajikistan’s proposal to host the “Solidarity-2027” joint border operation in 2027.
Delegates also considered proposals regarding the venue and timing of the next meeting of the Heads of Border Services.
The participants emphasized the importance of a coordinated approach to addressing common cross-border security threats. They noted that enhanced information sharing, closer coordination, and joint strategies would strengthen border security, mutual trust, and cooperation among SCO member states.
The meeting concluded in a constructive and cooperative atmosphere, reaffirming the member states’ commitment to expanding collaboration on regional border security and stability.
