RAWALPINDI: Security forces neutralized 20 militants in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as part of an ongoing anti-terrorism campaign.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations took place on November 8 and 9 in the North Waziristan and Dara Adam Khel areas.
In a covert operation in the Shawal area of North Waziristan, security forces targeted a militant hideout which was reportedly sponsored by India. The operation led to the killing of eight militants, who were active in the region under Indian patronage.
The second operation was conducted in the Dara Adam Khel region, where security forces, acting on intelligence reports, engaged militants in a firefight. As a result, 12 terrorists were killed.
The ISPR stated that clearance operations are ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining foreign-sponsored militants. The campaign, known as “Operation Azm-e-Istikhlaf,” aims to eradicate terrorism from Pakistan, particularly those linked to external actors.
