BANNU: At least seven people were killed and three others injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in the Domel area of Bannu’s Ping locality, police said.
According to police, the explosion targeted a passenger vehicle carrying commuters from Hathikhel village. The blast caused multiple casualties on the spot, while the injured, including children, were shifted to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Officials said a government vehicle belonging to Tehsildar Sub-Division Wazir Aabidullah was also affected by the explosion, although he remained unharmed.
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Law enforcement agencies collected evidence from the site as investigations into the nature of the blast continue.
