LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) announced verdicts in two cases related to the May 9 incident, acquitting Shah Mahmood Qureshi while sentencing Ejaz Chaudhry, Yasmin Rashid, and other accused to 10 years imprisonment each.
The ATC judge delivered the verdicts at Kot Lakhpat Jail for the May 9 cases.
Mawad-ul-Rasheed, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, and Ejaz Chaudhry were handed 10-year prison sentences each.
In a related case, Ayesha Bhattah was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for setting vehicles on fire near Jinnah House, whereas 12 accused in the Shadman Police Station arson case were acquitted.
The court also acquitted Suhail Khan, Owais, Rafiuddin, Fareed Khan, Salman Ahmed, Abdul Qadir, Faizan, Tayyab, Sultan, Shahid Baig, Majid Ali, and Bakht Rawan.
Moreover, the ATC sentenced Alia Hamza Malik and Sanam Javed to 5 years imprisonment each.
It is worth mentioning that a few days earlier, the ATC had also sentenced Umar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, and others in the May 9 “Jalao Ghirao” cases.
