Pakistan Joined Gaza Peace Board After Cabinet Approval: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has confirmed that the Pakistani cabinet had given its approval for the country to join the Gaza Peace Board.

Speaking to the media during his visit to London, Prime Minister Sharif expressed optimism that a peaceful resolution to the ongoing Gaza conflict would be reached soon.

“The people of Gaza deserve peace, and it is our hope that peace will be established there as soon as possible,” Sharif stated. He reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to supporting Palestinian rights and sovereignty, emphasizing that Palestinians must receive their rights with dignity and respect.

Sharif also highlighted the importance of international cooperation in resolving conflicts and promoting stability in the Middle East. “Pakistan stands firm in supporting all efforts that seek to bring lasting peace to the region,” he added.

In addition to his diplomatic engagements, the Prime Minister shared details of his recent meeting with the Managing Director (MD) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Describing the interaction as “wonderful,” Sharif noted that the MD had commended Pakistan’s ongoing economic reforms. “We are making steady progress in improving our economy, and the IMF’s recognition is a testament to the efforts of our government,” the Prime Minister said.

The meeting with the IMF MD marks a significant moment as Pakistan continues to navigate its economic challenges, with international recognition providing hope for future financial stability.
