JEDDAH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah and both sides discussed ongoing situation in the Middle East.
The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s strong and unwavering support for Saudi Arabia, emphasizing Islamabad’s full solidarity with the Kingdom amid the evolving regional and geopolitical situation.
The meeting was held as part of the prime minister’s official visit to Saudi Arabia, attended by a high-level Pakistani delegation. Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir was also present, underlining the strategic significance of the discussions.
During the session, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his regards and best wishes to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, while expressing deep appreciation for the Kingdom’s longstanding support, cooperation, and partnership with Pakistan across various sectors.
Sharif said that Pakistan stands in full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and remains committed to supporting the Kingdom, particularly in light of the current developments in the region, underscoring the shared responsibility of both nations in promoting regional security and stability.
The discussions also included a detailed exchange of views on the recent developments and challenges in the region, with both leaders agreeing to maintain close collaboration and to work jointly to advance peace, stability, and cooperation across the Middle East and broader region.
The prime minister reassured the Saudi crown prince that Pakistan would always remain a steadfast partner, making every possible effort to achieve the shared objective of regional peace, security, and stability.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was also part of the delegation and participated in the high-level talks.
