HYDERABAD: Railway operations faced disruption on Sunday after six wagons of a freight train derailed between Kotri and Bolhari stations in Sindh.

According to a Pakistan Railways spokesperson, the derailment forced authorities to close the up track from Bolhari station, while the down track remains operational.

Passenger and freight services are being diverted to the down track as an alternative measure until the affected line is restored, which is expected to take several hours.

The spokesperson added that while the exact cause of the derailment has not yet been determined, a formal investigation has been launched to ascertain the reasons behind the incident. No immediate reports of injuries or casualties have been confirmed.
