Sri Lanka Defeats Pakistan in Thrilling T20 Series Match

RAWALPINDI: In a thrilling encounter in the tri-nation T20 series, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 6 runs and secured a spot in the final. The match, played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, saw Pakistan winning the toss and opting to field first.

Sri Lanka posted a total of 184/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Kamil Mishara was the standout performer with a knock of 76 runs, while Kusal Mendis contributed 40 runs. Dasun Shanaka remained unbeaten on 17 runs. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed was the most successful bowler, taking 2 wickets, while Mohammad Wasim Jr. and Saim Ayub claimed one wicket each.

Chasing 185 runs, Pakistan was restricted to 178/7 in 20 overs. Captain Salman Ali Agha top-scored for Pakistan with an unbeaten 63 runs, while Usman Khan made 33 and Mohammad Nawaz contributed 27 runs. Despite their efforts, Pakistan fell short by 6 runs.

The final of the tri-nation series will be played on Saturday between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
