State Oppression in Kashmir, Palestine Shows Extremist Mindset: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that state oppression against innocent civilians in Kashmir and Palestine reflects an extremist mindset.

He urged the international community to take effective steps to resolve the long-standing disputes.

In his message on the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism, the prime minister emphasized that social justice, economic inclusion, and interfaith harmony are the foundations of sustainable peace.

He stated that extremist and violent ideologies weaken the values of humanity, tolerance, and coexistence. Highlighting Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, he said the sacrifices of security personnel and civilians stand as a testament to the country’s unwavering resolve against extremism.

The prime minister added that Islam teaches moderation, dialogue, and respect for human life. He stressed the importance of providing quality education and promoting positive thinking among the youth to safeguard them from extremist narratives.

Referring to global injustices, prolonged conflicts, and human rights violations, the premier said such issues fuel extremism. He noted that the situation in Kashmir and Palestine, where innocent civilians face state repression, is also indicative of extremist behavior.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to playing a proactive role in promoting global peace and establishing a just international order.
