GENEVA: Switzerland has reportedly refused to allow US military aircraft involved in attacks on Iran to use its airspace, citing the country’s long-standing policy of neutrality.
According to a statement issued by the Swiss government, aircraft associated with military operations against Iran were not granted permission to pass through Swiss airspace. Officials said the decision was made in accordance with Switzerland’s neutral stance in international conflicts.
Swiss authorities emphasized that the move was consistent with the country’s traditional foreign policy, which requires strict neutrality and careful consideration when granting overflight rights during military operations.
Meanwhile, in the United States, Senator Bernie Sanders criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the ongoing tensions. Sanders accused Netanyahu of being responsible for escalating the conflict and claimed that he had pushed former US President Donald Trump into what he described as a “dangerous and unpopular war.”
Sanders added that the situation has now become difficult to control and warned about the potential consequences of further escalation in the region.
