KABUL: The interim government in Afghanistan has offered to mediate between the government of Pakistan and the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TPP).
In an interview with a British media outlet, Taliban government’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that the interim government of Afghanistan wants cordial ties with Pakistan.
He said that cordial relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan was needed for stability and progress and development of not only Afghanistan but also for Pakistan and the whole region.
The Taliban spokesman also said that nobody would be allowed to use Afghan soil for carrying out attacks on any other country. He said that if Pakistan had any evidence of terrorist attacks on Pakistan from Afghan side it should share it with the government in Kabul.
Mujahid also said that if Pakistan wants to have negotiations with the TTP, Taliban government in Afghanistan can play the role of a mediator between Islamabad and TPP.
In the recent years, Pakistan has seen a sharp increase in terrorist attacks in the areas bordering with Afghanistan. These attacks were mainly carried out on security forces in the provinces of Balochistan.
Pakistan has repeatedly accused terrorist groups hiding in Afghanistan of carrying out the attacks in Pakistan in the recent past.
The government of Pakistan has recently also asked the Taliban regime in Kabul to take action against Hafiz Gul Bahadar group and other terrorists hiding in Afghanistan. However, the Taliban regime has failed to take any action in this regard.
