Talks to Reopen Strait of Hormuz to Begin Soon: IMO

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has agreed to begin negotiations soon to reopen the Strait of Hormuz after the United States failed to secure its reopening.

According to the IMO, talks will start next week with Iran and regional powers to develop a framework for ensuring safe passage for commercial vessels.

The organization’s head emphasized that no country in the region will be excluded from these negotiations. He added that a cooperative solution is necessary to guarantee the secure movement of ships, requiring all nations in the region to work together.

This development comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, highlighting the global importance of the Strait of Hormuz for maritime trade and energy transport.
