Texas: Afghan Arrested for Threatening to Make Bomb on TikTok

TEXAS: U.S. security agencies in Texas have arrested an Afghan national for claiming to make a bomb and threatening the city of Fort Worth on social media.

According to U.S. media reports, the suspect posted a video on TikTok in which he portrayed himself as a bomb-maker and issued a threat against Fort Worth.

The arrested individual has been identified as Mohammad Dawood Alokzai, who was taken into custody by the Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the arrest of Alokzai on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Authorities stated that Alokzai came to the United States under Operation Allies Welcome and was issued a green card on September 7, 2022. Following the TikTok video, investigators took immediate action and filed an official case against him.

This incident comes two days after another Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, was arrested near the White House in Washington for allegedly firing at National Guard personnel. Lakanwal also arrived in the U.S. in 2021.

Officials noted that both incidents have prompted U.S. security agencies to tighten screening and monitoring of online activities of refugees, particularly those from Afghanistan.
