LAHORE: The countdown for HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 has officially begun with the announcement of the season’s dates during the league’s New York roadshow. The tournament will kick off on January 26, and the grand final will take place on May 3.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that this season, Faisalabad will host 11 matches, marking an exciting new addition to the list of PSL venues. This announcement follows the league’s successful international roadshow, which was held in New York for the first time after the league’s triumph in England. The primary aim of the roadshow was to attract international investors ahead of the January 8 auction, where two new teams will be sold.

The event was attended by a host of cricketing stars, including T20 Captain Saim Ayub, players Abrar Ahmed, Fahim Ashraf, Saud Shakeel, Shan Masood, former captains Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja, and others. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, underscored the role of sports in fostering diplomatic ties and cultural understanding.

During the roadshow, national cricketers Shan Masood, Saim Ayub, and Saud Shakeel shared their personal experiences in the PSL, while Abrar Ahmed, Fahim Ashraf, and Saim Ayub emphasized the significance of the league in providing young talent with a global platform.
