Govt fails to give relief on inflated bills to consumers

ISLAMABAD: A meeting chaired by the prime minister to approve proposals of the energy ministry to provide relief to the consumers on inflated power bills ended without any outcome on Tuesday afternoon.

The meeting decided that the proposals would be shared with International Monetary Fund (IMF) as under the agreement on its bail-out package the government was to end all subsidies and increase the power tariffs.
