RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has stated that under bilateral agreements, any threat to Saudi Arabia would also be considered a threat to Pakistan.

At a press conference, the ISPR chief was asked about Saudi Arabia’s position if India were to take aggressive action again. He replied that the ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are multi-dimensional, historic, and rooted in brotherhood and sentiment. The Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement between the two countries reflects decades of strong cooperation.

He added that Pakistan holds the honor of being the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, which is a great distinction for every Muslim. If the holy sites are ever threatened, Pakistan and its armed forces are chosen by Allah to protect them, linking the security of the holy mosques directly to Saudi Arabia’s national security.

DG ISPR further stated that the security of Saudi Arabia is as important to Pakistan as Pakistan’s own security is to Saudi Arabia. The mutual importance of both countries’ security is a core principle of their agreements, though the precise outcomes are defined within the framework of these agreements.

He also emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to its promises, saying, “We are fully aware of our pledge, and we will honor it.”

On another question, he said that no country can match the sacrifices and readiness of the Pakistan Army for war. He also refuted misconceptions in India regarding distance between the Pakistan Army and its people, asserting that there is strong trust between the armed forces and the nation.
