MULTAN: Three people were killed in a road traffic accident due to dense fog near here on Saturday morning, highway department and motorway police said.
They said a poultry carrying truck rammed into a stationary truck alongside at the New Kutchehry road in Multan resulting in the death of the three persons.
Two other persons were also injured in the accident who were shifted to hospital by Rescue 1122.
Dense fog has enveloped the provinces of Punjab, Sindh and parts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa for many weeks, resulting in cancellation of flights and suspension of traffic on motorways.
The fog prevails in the plain areas of the country due to low temperature and a dry weather. So far, the country has not seen rain or snowfall in the winter season.
Moreover, there has been a phenomenal increase in cases of seasonal diseases.
