TikTok Launches STEM Education Feed in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: TikTok, in partnership with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, has officially launched its dedicated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) feed in Pakistan.

The new STEM feed is part of TikTok’s effort to promote digital education in Pakistan, offering high-quality content focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This curated in-app experience aims to inspire curiosity and promote critical thinking among students, teachers and young professionals, particularly in underserved and remote regions like Chitral and other parts of northern Pakistan.

TikTok is also collaborating with leading academic institutions to train teachers and educators in creating meaningful STEM content. In addition, the platform is building a community of local creators and providing support to produce educational videos in Urdu, English and regional languages.

A press statement emphasized the goal of building a sustainable learning ecosystem where educators and content creators work together to make STEM learning engaging, accessible, and inclusive for all.

Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Federal Minister for IT, said the initiative supports the government’s digital education goals and empowers youth to explore careers in science and technology.

Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Education, called it a step forward in making STEM more relatable and accessible.

Fahad Mohammad Khan Niazi, Head of Public Policy at TikTok Pakistan, said the platform iss proud to invest in the country’s future by supporting digital education and creativity.

This initiative highlights how technology can help bridge the education gap in Pakistan and support future innovators, especially in rural and remote regions like Chitral, where digital learning can unlock new opportunities for the next generation.
