Two indicted for burning holy Quran in Sweden last year

STOCKHOLM: Two persons have been indicted in Sweden for burning the holy Quran in Sweden last year, hurting the sentiment of the Muslims around the world and prompting protests in the Muslim world.

The prosecutors stated that the two persons on four separate occasions hurt the sentiment of the Muslims by burning their holy book and expressing objectionable remarks and signs against the religion of Islam.

Salwan Momika and Salwan Najem committed “offences of agitation against an ethnic or national group” four separate times, prosecutors added.

After the incident in Sweden last year, protest demonstrations were held at only in different part of Europe but in other countries and continents, including Asia and America.
