ISLAMABAD: Transparency International has released its latest National Corruption Perception Survey (NCPS) 2025, indicating a significant rise in transparency, a notable decrease in corruption and encouraging signs of economic improvement across Pakistan.

According to the report, 66 percent of citizens stated that they did not have to pay any bribe for completing government-related tasks, marking a substantial shift in public experience with official procedures.

The organization noted that Pakistan’s economy, previously facing severe challenges, has now begun moving toward greater stability, resilience, and gradual growth.

The survey credits the government’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as a major factor in restoring financial stability and reinforcing economic direction.

Additionally, Pakistan’s successful removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list contributed to improved investor confidence and strengthened the broader economic landscape.

The report also highlights a positive transformation in public perception of the police, attributing this to improved service delivery, better behavior, and a more responsive policing approach.

Public opinion showed advancement in other key sectors as well, including education, land and property services, and taxation, indicating broader institutional improvement.

Transparency emphasized that the NCPS remains a critical tool for assessing how the public views corruption, governance, and institutional performance in Pakistan. The findings reflect evolving citizen expectations and demonstrate the impact of recent administrative and economic reforms.
