RAWALPINDI: Former prime minister Imran Khan and ex-information minister Fawad Chaudhry were on Saturday indicted by a trial court in the Election Commission of Pakistan contempt case.
The court held the hearing of the contempt case in Adiala jail during which the PTI founder and the ex-minister were present. In the court, charges were read out to the accused.
The court then put off further proceedings in the case till February 16.
On January 4, four members of the Election Commission of Pakistan conducted hearing of the case inside the Adiala jail and indicted the two leaders of the embattled PTI party of Khan in the contempt case.
The contempt case was launched against the two PTI leaders for insulting the election commission and the chief election commissioner repeatedly in public meetings, press conferences and interviews.
