WASHINGTON: A new decision has been announced for those wishing to obtain a US visa.
US authorities have introduced a pilot program requiring certain applicants to deposit a $15,000 bond in order to be granted a visa.
According to a report by the American news agency, this measure will apply to citizens of countries whose nationals often overstay their visas in the United States.
Those who return to their home country on time will have the bond money refunded.
The pilot program will begin on August 20, 2025 and is expected to run for approximately one year.
