WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has expressed concern over reports suggesting that a conflict may be underway between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One while traveling from the United States to Israel, Trump stated that he will need to review the situation in detail upon his return.
President Trump highlighted his experience in mediating and ending conflicts, noting that he has previously intervened to prevent wars, including between Pakistan and India, through diplomatic efforts.
He emphasized that his primary goal has always been to save lives rather than seeking recognition or awards, referencing the Nobel Peace Prize, and stating that achieving peace is his ultimate priority.
Earlier, regarding the situation in Gaza, Trump confirmed that hostilities have ceased and that the current ceasefire is expected to be maintained. He announced plans to establish a “Board of Peace” for Gaza in the near future and indicated that the release of Israeli hostages may occur ahead of the previously scheduled timeline.
The President’s remarks underscore ongoing diplomatic concerns in South Asia and the Middle East, highlighting the need for careful monitoring and continued efforts to ensure regional stability.
