WASHINGTON: Donald Trump is making headlines not only for his second victory in the US presidential election but more for his aggressive postures towards other countries, both friends and foes, even before taking over on January 20.
Regarding the Middle East crisis and the Israeli war on Gaza, Trump has issued a second warning that hell will break out in the region if Hamas did not release the Israeli hostages in its captivity before he takes over as the president of the United States on January 20.
As his inauguration day draws nearer, the president-elect has already shown his priorities and preferences in dealing with other countries, including major powers such as China and Russia.
He has also gone so far into saying that Canada should be a US state. He and his team have also stated that former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan was facing politically motivated cases. Before his election, Trump had stated that he would work to get Imran out of the jail.
“It will not be good for Hamas and it will not be good, frankly, for anyone. All hell will break out. I don’t have to say anymore, but that’s what it is,” Trump said in remarks at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Tuesday, according to CNN.
He said, “there should have never been” the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas on Israel.
Observers day that the selection Trump has made on key posts of his incoming administration showed no end to the Middle East quagmire because he has no durable solution to the issue.
His close aides however were optimistic that soon there would be an agreement among key stakeholders to end the Gaza war and release of the hostages held by Hamas since October 2023.
