WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has said that he wants to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran and has written a letter to the Iranian leadership in that regard.
According to a foreign news agency, President Trump told the Iranian leadership in the letter that he hoped they would want to negotiate. That would be better for Iran. He said the alternative was that we have to do something. We can’t have another nuclear bomb.
Trump said: “There are two ways to deal with Iran: one is militarily and the other making a deal. Because I don’t want to hurt Iran, they are very good people.”
According to the news agency, the letter from the US president was likely addressed to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, but the White House has not yet clarified in this regard.
